Hello, bonjour, namaste.

I’m Rachna Chari — a creative director, designer and lifelong student.

Befittingly named रचना, or creation in Hindi, I feel most like myself when I’m making, exploring and stretching conceptual boundaries. I lead with curiosity, shape ideas with intention, and believe the best creative work is both strategically grounded and emotionally resonant.

My career has taken me through publishing, academia, startups, agencies and, now, in-house brand leadership. Along the way I've worked across editorial, branding, packaging, digital experiences, photography and campaigns for organizations including Disney Publishing, Columbia University, Welch's, Ocean Spray, Barclays and, most recently, Panera Bread.

I’m currently serve as Creative Director at Panera, where I lead an in-house team of designers and writers bringing integrated brand campaigns, product launches and menu innovation to life across digital and in-cafe channels. I love building thoughtful brand systems, collaborating across disciplines and helping teams to the best work of their careers.

Outside of work, I dabble in cooking, painting, collaging, teaching, and convincing friends that a long conversation (and maybe a Tarot reading) can solve almost anything. I’m also sloooowly working on self-publishing a cookbook and serve on the board of Fidgetech, a school providing creative education and certification for autistic learners.
