2020 started out as a set of two cards I created for the new year. Halfway through the year, inspired by the unforeseeable trajectory of the year that’s been, I decided to create two new designs.

Reinterpretation. The first card addresses quarantine and Covid-19; “bonne chance,” a simple update to the words “bonne année” now means “good luck,” which we all need as we navigate the circumstances today.
I wanted the second card to reference the Black Lives Matter movement. The shattered glasses represent the lives lost due to police brutality and racism, while the large colored numbers are meant to be reminiscent of protest signs and a sense of optimism for the future.
